"Sissami" is Mariina's third album, and it is almost lame that the band could continue to produce land plaque hits like "Sissami Kisima", "Timersorit" and "Sinnattoq" just to name a few from the record. "Sissami" is packed with well-known songs recorded in 1996, and it's an honor to get this magnificent album back on the market after many years of impatient fans.
Nive Nielsen came out with this album earlier this year (2009), and along with the band she has given lots of concerts around the world, especially in Greenland. The music style is very original where it can be difficult to place the genre, but if you like music like Norah Jones and Swan Lee, you're not wrong with this magnificent album. Nive Nielsen stands out with her gentle voice and the melodies are lovely down the ground, creating a satisfying presence and the texts are entertaining and easy to relate to. The record contains 15 songs - 12 songs in English and 3 in Greenlandic. The number "Room" became a radio hit and the accompanying music video is shown once in a while on the KNR as people have responded well, not least because of its distinctive style and visual appearance. This popular album is a nice and intense album to listen to and its more or less modest impression gives a real boost to the listener.
The album is called Sila Qaammareerpoq, and is a lavish happy Greenlandic plate where the singer John G. Sandgreen manages to come up with humorous texts. Eg. The song Aar 'Laar' Vijuu (I love you), where he mixes the Greenlandic language with the English. The band has chosen to use the "Cher" effect, as it is called - where it is cut in the vocal and it sounds completely electronic. The plate is a real summer plate and will certainly fall in good soil in the Greenlandic home. Despite some of the funny lyrics, the music is seriously played by serious musicians, such as Viila Sandgreen who plays a guitar song in the first song, but also the band's guitarist who fires it off with guitar solos here and there. The numbers are well thought out and melodic and you can not be in a good mood when you hear the album.
Then our new distribution came with a new group called Sisit, and they have just finished this nice album "Uanniik Ilinnut", consisting mainly of rhythmic pop and ballads. The songs are melodic with good texts dealing with many recognizable things with love in front, and the singer Ludvig Svendsen, who has written the songs together with Jan Olsen and Nukannguaq Kajusen (Inuk), sings with a vowel that is very prominent on the record. One can feel that the singer challenges himself, and with the musicians like the aforementioned and Malik Andersen (Arctic Spirits), Aasaf Olsen and Niels Ole Olsen (Liima Inui), it works well and you can clearly feel the home study atmosphere. The songs are written from 1998-2009 and the record contains 12 songs, recorded in Sisit Studio 2010.
The band is from Qeqertarsuaq and is called "Tulleriit" and consists of 3 Zeeb brothers and Knud Brandt. The album contains 10 earthy songs where the style is acoustically influenced by gentle guitar themes, electronic background sounds and listenable melodies. The album stays at the gentle end and if you are to country and lovely ballads it's just the case! Katsi's texts deal with positive things where the cover of the family, happy surroundings and lovely memories tells you very well about what this album implies. Katsi is helped by talented musicians and the album is beautifully produced. The album's title is called "Qujanaq", which in english means "Thanks".

Tulleriit became a famous name with the debut album "Ituinnerat", which was already reprinted after two months in the stores. Tulleriit consists of Zeeb brothers and their good friends Knud Brandt and Juuna Zethsen from Qeqertarsuaq. Juuna Zethsen has recorded this album containing 11 songs. The style of the songs resembles the style of the first album, though with some twists in the form of some blues, hip hop and even a song that is being sung by Thule dialect. There have also been some humorous lyrics in this time, where the first album contained only serious issues. The songs are fresh and are written by Nukannguaq and Zakorat Zeeb. The band has mostly played concerts in Nuuk, Sisimiut, Ilulissat and Qeqertarsuaq, not least at the Akisuanerit Festival where they have received a good response.
Rikka as with his debut album "Unnuap Nipaannerata" became famous for his big voice is now ready with the sequel "25". The album has been a long way since the production took place in close cooperation between Rikka and the producer Mik S. Christensen in Copenhagen. The album contains 10 songs and the style itself is completely different from Rika's first release, which was much more acoustic. This time it's pop and ballads at more up-beat pace. Rikka, known for his touching love songs, keeps the style textual and with a larger sound image for his music, it's exciting how his fans will take on the album. "25" is a very personal album for Rikka and it can be heard on him in his vocal. Hans Rosenberg and Mik S. Christensen have given a helping hand to this release. Rika's romantic texts never fail, and when he expresses himself on these songs, there is no more honesty from this sensitive young man. Enjoy the album and give it its own life, because it's clear that Rika's songs are written from the heart. It's a melodic pop that will definitely change much on his live shows in the future.

For his first release, he received a prize for his encouraging lyrics and unique music universe, which has been admired by many heroes. He has a big voice and one of his great strengths is the use of unconventional chords that make the music something special. This release with his wife Anthonia is a beautiful record where melodies and texts are strong and they have harmonies that just fall in. They have spent a lot of time and energy on the songs and it can be heard.
